Climate Change is Global, the Impact is Local

Writing for Climate of Denial

Submission Overview

Climate of Denial is a knowledge base of climate change denial at the local, state and federal levels. From school boards to Congress, holding science deniers accountable for what they say and do depends on your contributions to our Wiki.

We try to publish the best available information. The website is always a work in progress, so if you have questions or suggestions, please feel free to be in touch and let us know what you think.

Once you’re logged-in you can submit new articles on climate change deniers, or help to improve existing articles. Submissions will be reviewed by Climate of Denial and your work maybe edited for content before publication.

We use the HelpieWP plug-in as our knowledge base. They continue to build new features into the wiki, and as soon as they are available we will work them into the Climate of Denial site.

Submission Process

Here’s how the submission process works. It’s simple. Really.

Once you’ve logged in and are on your account page, you’ll move to the Climate of Denial home page where you will see the “+ New Article” button above the wiki. Click on it to add a new article. An “Add New Content” page will open. In the title field, add only the name of your climate denier. For example: Richard Shelby. (The person’s title or role can show up in the opening sentence of your content).

In the content area follow the the basic submission guidelines that appear below, or on our main page, to create an article.

Once you’ve finished, click the Submit for Review button and your all set! Our editors will look things over, make appropriate changes, and get it published on the knowledge base.

We have included the names of a few science deniers to get things started. Our staff and interns are working to complete articles, but if you’re looking to write a submission, check out the articles listed by State to find a Denier who needs a write-up.

Submission Guidelines

It’s okay to read a couple of the already published articles in the Featured Profiles section of our main page to get a sense of what we’re looking for in a contribution.

Keep things factual, short and to the point. Let reality speak for itself.

1: Give the name, job in government, business, or media.

2: Career history and biographical information. Explain their position on climate change and environmental policy.

3: Please include supporting climate change denial quotes or video with supporting links.

4: If your climate change denier is part of a larger network, please include a few “friends”. Examples: President Trump, Koch Industries, anti-science think tanks, etcetera. Please look over the wiki and include the titles of other entries, especially entries from the same state or category, so we can build a linked knowledge base.

5: Suggested Tags: State, City, Republican, Democrat, Congress, House fo Representatives, Senate, Government, Business, Media, name of employer, support network, and more—think of possible search terms appropriate for anyone looking for your submission.
