Climate Change is Global, the Impact is Local

Rep. Rodney Lee Davis (IL, 13th District) has been Illinois’s 13th congressional Representative since 2013. From Des Moines, Iowa, the fifty-one year old has served the Republican party in the House of Representatives for over seven years now.

On Climate Change 

In an interview from 2012, Davis stated his stance on Climate Change as follows: “Global Warming has stopped sixteen years ago.” (The Power of Public Media)  While Rep. Rodney Lee Davis continues to ignore his statement made during his 2012 campaign and continues to reject bills like Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal due to their “unrealistic legislation,” . However, his views on climate change seem to be evolving. In 2018 he introduced a farm bill including amendments designed to reduce green house gas emissions and impact efforts to reduce Climate Change. This bill was rejected by the house. The League of Conservation Voters currently gives Davis a lifetime score of 7%, but in 2019 his score improved by ten points to 17%.

During Rep. Rodney Lee Davis’s 2020 campaign, he received fundraising from multiple corporate lobbyists. His Top contributors include: Exelon Corp., Mcdonald’s Corp., Blue Cross/Blue Shield., Hanson Professional Services, and State Farm Insurance, individuals and PACs included.
