Climate Change is Global, the Impact is Local

Marc Morano

Marc Morano is the founder of ClimateDepot.com and the producer of “Climate Hustle” and “Climate Hustle 2.” Dubbed the “Godfather of climate skepticism” and the “climate skepticism kingpin,” he served as a senior advisor and climate researcher for the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. He was also the communications director for Senator James Inhofe (R-OK). He founded ClimateDepot.com, a “global warming and eco-news center” in 2009. ClimateDepot.com is sponsored by the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow. ClimateDepot.com has received several awards from the Heartland Institute at their annual conferences.

On Climate Change

In 2009, Morano said that “the bottom line is, not only do we not face a climate crisis, but if we face a climate crisis, what Congress is proposing, what the United Nations is proposing, is scientifically meaningless. It would have no detectable impact. So we’d all be doomed if we had to rely on them for a solution.”

In 2016, he claimed that the environmental movement was trying to “indoctrinate” children, saying that “kids are being spoon-fed a version of science that does not comport with reality” and that “the environmental left carefully censors or bans opposing ideas.”

In 2017, he also made a reference to the Salem Witch Trials when talking about carbon pricing: “Carbon pricing harkens back to the idea, you know, that Massachusetts had to deal with, is the witchcraft trials. The idea that witches change the weather. Now they’re claiming suvs and our coal plants are changing the weather.”

Throughout 2020, Morano was anti-lockdown and anti-mask, and he advocated for people to break lockdown rules.

In 2021, when talking about the Capitol Insurrection, he Tweeted that “…I am failing to muster outrage at the protestors. This is way beyond Trump. It’s about lockdowns and tyrannical government. Striking fear in politicians is not a bad thing.”
